Matt Stone is a native Arkansan, who was born Pine Bluff and grew up in Monticello. He graduated from the University of Arkansas Monticello, where he received his Bachelor of Science in Forestry. Shortly afterward, Matt founded the Stone Timber Company, a timber procurement and management company located in Camden, Arkansas. In addition to Stone Timber, Matt serves as President of Investment Realty.
Matt's pride in South Arkansas is evident by the numerous hours given to public service and volunteer work. Matt has served on the Camden City Council, the Ouachita County Sherriffs' Office's Dive Search Rescue and Recovery Team, and was appointed to the Arkansas Forestry Division in 2018. He has served as a mentor to students in the Camden-Fairview school district, volunteered with Keep Camden Clean, and is Co-Chair of Unity in the Community.
Matt and his wife Jenny have been married 41 years and reside in Camden. They attend Calvary Baptist Church and teaches Sunday school when called upon. They have three children, Kelly who is married to Trent Garner, Mason who is married to Shelby Jarvis Stone, and Hillary who is married to Ethan Veazey. Matt and Jenny are the proud grandparents to Lincoln, Delta, Mack and expectantly await Mae in February. In his free time, Matt enjoys hunting and fishing in South Arkansas' pristine outdoors, and on occasion has contributed articles to Arkansas Game and Fish Finder Magazine .
